I'm a teacher who is certified in both Chinese and math. I've had the opportunity to teach math from the elementary through high school levels, and Mandarin Chinese from the beginning level through advanced placement courses. I've over a decade of experience as a teacher, so I am familiar with where students face difficulty in learning these subjects. When I work with a student, I like to explain concepts by breaking them down into easier segments, especially when it comes to solving math problems. When students understand the fundamentals they are able to apply their knowledge as opposed to having to memorize problem-solving steps. When I have free time, I enjoy playing tennis and birdwatching. I was also recognized as the Florida Foreign Language Association Chinese teacher of the year in 2014.
