A specialist in the subject of Biology, I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Now, I am in the process of getting a master's in Education. So, not only do I have adequate scientific knowledge, I am learning how to be a proper teacher. I am of Southeast Asian descent, living in the United States. I am fluent in both my native tongue, English, and a third language. Therefore, I can effectively communicate with other ESL students, and I also have a higher understanding for cultural diversity.I am confident in my ability to simplify topics of varying degrees of complexity, so as to bring full understanding to the student. My teaching model is based on Bruner's Spiral Curriculum. This is a three-part method that includes going over a topic multiple times, adding additional, new bits of information each time the subject is broached, and tying in preexisting knowledge with the fresh material. It is my belief that this method is the most effective vehicle for comprehension and retention. I am a patient instructor. I feel that patience is a necessary virtue, which should be possessed by anyone looking to enter into the field of education.
