Experience

As a certified Elementary a School Teacher I tutored small groups of children in preparation for Florida's FCAT exam. I have tutored small groups of student in a pull out program for reading and math at another school that I worked at. Most recently I joined a branch of the Sylvan Learning Center where I worked with students ages 5-16 in reading and math. I would love to start my own tutoring Company one day . However right now I would love to find work through an established agency. I want to continue tutoring children in small groups one on one because I love to have that extra time with each student that you may not get to have with a full class of students. I love to see that lightbulb go off when the student finally understands a concept! I have taken each and every class required to earn my Professional Certificate in Elementary Education in Florida. I also have completed all classes to earn my ESOL (English as a Second Language) Endorsement.

Hobbies

I love to spend time reading and recently joined a book club for all of us reading nerds! Give me a good book about historical fiction and I'm set for the day! I am a huge animal lover who recently lost my beloved Yorkshire terrier, so I would get to love another dog. I love going out to eat, going to the movies, snorkeling, and most of all being with my family who I am lucky enough to have about half an hour distance either way. I especially enjoy playing with my niece and two nephews. That allows me to stay in tune with all of the current trends! Wow, just writing that made me feel old!
