Jie Ren won first prize at “The 13th American Oberlin International Piano Festival, Sichuan selection Competition” and later received a grant from the committee and was invited to attend the International Piano Festival at Oberlin in 2007. She won the third place in the Thomas & Evon Cooper International Piano Competition, China selection Competition in 2010 and in 2009, Jie Ren also took part in the Second Chinese-American International Piano Institute and was invited to perform at the final concert of the festival as one of the outstanding performers. She now studies at the Lynn University Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, Florida with Roberta Rust in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree. Last fall she was a finalist in the Ars Flores Concerto Competition and 2011 LYNN Concerto competition and this past summer she attended the Chautauqua Festival in upstate New York and was a finalist at the festival’s piano competition.
